Botanical illustrations for the Field Studies Council Ancient Woodland Plants Chart.  Over 25 indicator plants with their species specific traits made clear for easy identification in the field.

Set of 62 plates for Collins Flower Guide .  My plates included Lamiaceae, Grasses, Pond-weeds, Campanulaceae, Boraginaceae, some Asteraceae, and a wide diversity of other native European wild flower species.  Each plate consisted of up to 12 different plants, illustrated to scale and with botanical details provided as full colour vginettes, or (in the case of grasses) as pen and ink illustrations.

Landscape illustration of a cross section through an idealized Hay meadow, for article in BBC Countryfile Magazine.  The landscape includes a cross section of a mole burrow, details of the roots of yellow rattle, meadow butterflies, beetles and worms, small mammals, a soaring swallow, and lots of wild meadow flowers.  The landscape behind is based on Muker, in Swaledale.  The “Guide to Britain’s Hay Meadows”  also includes several botanical illustrations of grass species.

Illustrations of wild flowers from my sketchbooks to accompany articles on spring, and how best to enjoy the countryside.  Violet and Primrose sketchbook studies were included to illustrate the article.  I also wrote a short piece on the joys of being in the woods, illustrating.
