It's so interesting how much variety of equipment is out there. And Id never even heard of Kuretake Zig brushes! Thankyou.

Pentel Aquash are good but if you’re already using Zig white ink? The Kuretake Zig waterbrushes are better.

The yellow, the ultra fine tip, is my suggestion for your fine detail work. There’s a sponge element within the brush feed- think that’s why the water control is much better.

(Have no Derwent nor Caran d’Ache waterbrush experience for comparison. Both are very expensive compared to the Japanese made in AUD terms.)

In reply to Blue. Hey, Im so glad youve started using watercolours! I hope it's a medium you end up loving. As well as the Rosemary and co, which some people adore, I like the Princeton Velvettouch which are the best of the synthetics (in my opinion) for holding their tips. So glad my blogs were helpful in navigating all the different brushes on offer.

Hi Lizzie, I recently started watercolour and have been enjoying your videos so much. I have resolved not to try brushes made with animal hair so I can’t get used to them (!) and your two blogs on synthetic brushes have been such a helpful resource. I have ordered some Rosemary & Co Red Dot Spotters to try and am looking forward to their arrival. Thank you for sharing your time with us.

Good afternoon all, acquired the Victoria Finlay book on Kindle. An interesting and eye opening read which has, as you all say, made me think about the colour process and how I could utilise the process.
Having read the book now I feel I could comment, apologies for bringing up an older thread.

I have read this book and it is a great read because Finlay traveled to all these places to get information for all these colours!
